Aladdin

Princess Jasmine

Upon replicating a West End production costume, I was allocated the Princess Jasmine costume of Disney’s West End production of Aladdin. Following the same silhouette and aesthetic of the costume used on stage, originally designed by Gregg Barnes, I constructed the costume from scratch following processes of pattern drafting, toiling, pattern altering, and final construction and embellishment.

The costume was created with elements of lingerie, using lingerie components of a bra fastening/clasp, adjustable straps and bust cups. Materials used  included dance wear georgette, satin and chiffon to create a layered depth for the garments. Gold satin self made piping constructed the intricate edging to the silhouette of the garments.
