ABOUT ME

GO6A0355.jpg

I have always dreamt of a career path into the creative arts - specifically the costume industry, beginning my creative development from early stages of education though it was part of further education that my skills were pushed into the direction of costume. I previously studied at Northumbria University (Newcastle) to gain an understanding of fashion and garment construction before moving on to become a First Class graduate at The Northern School of Art to study BA (Hons) Costume Interpretation with Design.

While studying, I have built my knowledge in many subject areas including tailoring, millinery, corsetry, embellishment, ballet/dance and design, all of which are featured in my portfolio. My knowledge and skills have allowed m these processes when visualising character concepts and translating this into costumes for viewers of stage and screen. Different projects have encouraged collaboration within different aspects of the industry, those including leather specialists, ballet and dance makers, goldwork embroidery specialists and production/prop design.

Throughout the time building my skills within costuming, I have grew my experience as part of different industry settings. These including theatre, live performance, drag show touring, and pantomime. These opportunities have been documented within the portfolio as well as my full Curriculum Vitae which is available upon request.
